SUMMARY:LPNA General Meeting February 15\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:LPNA General Meeting February 15\, 2023 7pm Virtual Meeting\nEmail admin@loganparkneighborhood.org for the link. \nAgenda:\nPresentation from CTUL – CTUL is a worker-led organization where workers organize\, educate and empower each other to fight for a voice in their workplaces and in their communities \nCenter for Energy and Environment “Electrify Everything” Program \nElectrify Everything is a city program built by a group of teams who have come together to share ideas and promote electrification within the Twin Cities area and beyond. Science has shown the importance of replacing gas systems with electric ones for our climate\, for our health\, and for our wallets. Electrify Everything helps connect residents to knowledge and resources that help them understand home electrification and why it is important.  The program will provide step by step guidance so households can develop a plan to electrify their homes on a realistic timeline for their circumstances.  \n \nThe program will provide information about technical and financial resources along the electrification journey. This is the community’s push to move away from fossil fuels. Everyone should enjoy healthy\, affordable and efficient homes. Moving from home appliances that burn fossil fuels like gas on site to highly efficient electric options makes it easier to breathe thanks to cleaner home air\, keeps utility bills predictable and can even lower them\, and gives everyone a chance to take part in the next generation of caring for our planet.  https://www.mncee.org/ \nEmail admin@loganparkneighborhood.org with questions.

SUMMARY:LPNA April General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:LPNA General Meeting April 19\, 2023 7pm \nIn person at Logan Park Recreation Center\, 690 13th St NE \nAgenda: \n\nFeedback on Gathering Place art project\nMetro Transit F Line Project\n\nThe Bench\, The Birch\, and The Owl: LPNA Community Engagement Meeting 4/19\nCome check out the “Gathering Space” functional art project for the park on April 19th. Over 5 years ago\, the neighborhood planning process identified an “artistic light project” for the park. After many conversations with MPRB staff and hours of research\, we have submitted a proposal – designed  by local sculpture artist\, Kyle Fokken (kylefokken.com).  Kyle has designed many outdoor projects and is very excited to create one for his own neighborhood. Below is a model of the project showing the bench and trees. The bench will have multi-levels to accommodate different ages\, abilities and uses. At night\, the bench will be lit from underneath with colored LED lights. The trees will also have “eyes’ – and an owl! \n\nPlease stop in to see the model at the LPNA meeting on Wednesday\, April 19 at 7pm\, meet the artist\, and offer your thoughts on the project.  The concept for this project is to create an alcove for conversations and community – with an element of fun and whimsy. Something much needed these days! \nThe top of the bench will have cut outs of various animal textures. We’re looking for input on the textures and other aspects of the project. Please email LPNA questions and feedback if you are unable to attend Wednesday\, April 19\, 7pm. \n\n\n\n\n
